#YouHadYourChanceAgentsAndYouBlewIt
As of 1/3/25 I'm an indie author.
Two people who shouldn't exist find their place, new alliances are forged, and long-buried secrets come to light, while an unseen enemy works to undermine everything. Life-altering secrets will be revealed in the sequel.
Our Story
The Lyas Project is an unofficial, unregistered (due to being ineligible) nonprofit dedicated to working towards the film adaptation of my story Elias: Monster and Maginist. I decided that, as I'm uninterested in making a profit from it, I'd set up a nonprofit for it. It's really just a personal project though. If you'd like to help, check out the Invest page; there are non-monetary options.
Hi! I'm Angela Knight!
Making my film and getting it out there is my dream, and all my dreams come true.
You can't stop the inevitable.
Elias: Monster and Maginist is an original Epic Coming-of-Age High Romantasy, with a little Horror, Time Travel, and a forbidden romance, set in an original world. Some of the characters are also original. It features two people who have always felt like outsiders, but eventually learn where they belong. My sweet boy Elias is on the same part of the autism spectrum as me. One other character is a trans doe (formerly cis), due to a highly offensive Facebook comment regarding trans women. The change became part of the story.
I'm not sure what I could compare it to, as I've not really seen anything like it, but perhaps The Neverending Story could come close, due to its unique characters and situations, crossed with Arlington Road and The Time Traveler's Wife.
I've won poetry competitions, the prize of one being publication in an anthology. I also took bronze in a brand new short story competition. I won Best Fantasy Screenplay for Amara. My first fantasy novel was published, and has sold. I also write fanfiction.
I threw myself into fantasy at a young age; I was an undiagnosed (until 37) autistic, and life was hard, mostly due to the bullying I've suffered pretty much my entire life. Many years ago, I was fed up of all the sequels and remakes. I decided that if I wanted something original I would have to write it myself. So I did. Making my film and getting it out there is my dream, and all my dreams come true...
My WIP is treading a fine line between "This is inspired!" and "The writer is utterly depraved!"

A sample, taken from the first draft, is available below. I'm writing my non profit feature film as an Epic High Romantasy story/book series. The full first book will be unsuitable for under-18s. Feedback and constructive criticism are welcome; you can use the comments section of the contact page for this.
There will be a BIG surprise in the sequel, for characters and readers alike!
